A. You need to find someone who sews and can make custom plush (like me). I have made custom Katie's from Horton Hears a Who and RazzleDazzle plushies from the BBC show. Bonta Kun doesn't look difficult. I'm sure there are other people that do custom work, too. I think you can contact me through the Yahoo Answers system if you would like more information. I belong to a sewing group/club and I'm sure we can find someone who will make you one.

A. Look for local flea markets. Many areas will allow a person to rent a space for a reasonable fee. You might want to check it out one weekend to see if the amount of traffic warrants the expense. You might also consider approaching stores to sell on consignment. Many stores will do that as opposed to paying up front for merchandise. You start out with a specific inventory which is verified by you and store and charge for what you restock after a predetermined period of time.

A. Wow. I wish I was talented that way. I don't know anyone who does this on the net but handmade furniture sells really well in my area (Colorado). There are several stores that buy from people like you as well. If it was me I would contact your local furniture stores and see if they would do something like that or maybe sell your stuff on consignment. Also there is a guy here that runs continuous ads in The Shopper and has made quite a success of selling his things that way. The advantage to the internet is you could get orders from all over and spread your name farther and faster. Good luck. I am always looking for homemade heavy duty furniture that will last.

What you you pay for a child's table and chairs set?
Q. If they were custom and handmade, what would be a reasonable price to pay for a couple of chairs and a matching table for children?
Asked by lisabug7777 - Mon Oct 30 06:42:18 2006 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If it is custom made and good wood I would pay about $150. When the child outgrows it you can store it for them to give to their children and so on. You may want to ask for a Formica top so that spills and such are an easy clean-up.

Q. I have sent custom, handmade gifts to Ellen Degeneres and Rachel Ray. It's been a while. Does anyone know how long it should take to get some kind of response regarding receipt of these gifts?
Asked by mardene a - Wed Apr 11 12:34:09 2007 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It probably has to go through a million other people before they even try to get it to the actual celeb. For all they know you could be some crazy stalker trying to kill them. It will most likely either never get to them or it will take a long time. Celebs act like they're the President when it comes to stuff like this.

Wedding dress woes...:'(?
Q. A long time ago a friend of mine told me that when I got married, her gift to me would be a custom handmade wedding dress. My friend passed away last spring from brain cancer. I sent her a letter with a picture of my engagement ring. I don't know if she was able to comprehend that I was engaged. Now I am faced with the prospect of shopping for a dress and it tears me up inside. It's a reminder that my friend passed away and just thinking about it brings me to tears. How can I get passed this and enjoy dress shopping?

A. You could try taking something she loved, like her favorite material, or her favorite flower and incorporating that into the dress you choose.

How much do you think the castle on The Haunting is worth?
Q. If it here real that is, how much do you think it's worth? And how much money do you think it would be too make that castle? Why I'm asking is if I had the money I would definitely build one, that castle on that movie (The Haunting) is the coolest castle I've ever seen (and I doubt it's a mansion, it's to big to be one). My guesses to build one would be 50 million or so, why well because most of that stuff in the house you would not find in America, so it would be expensive to get custom/handmade furniture. So what would you think, it's worth and how much it would take to build one?
Asked by KcBarker - Sat Jan 30 16:16:41 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. the inside parts that do things are sets of course but the rest of the house is a mansion-castle-estate (cant think of the name of it) in England. Originally i thought it might have been Winchester Mansion in California.

Selling handmade cards via home parties? What do you think?
Q. I want to sell my handmade cards by booking home parties. This would work similar to an avon or tupperware party: A hostess would recieve a free gift just for hosting the party. She would invite all her friends out for about an hour or so and i would give a short presentation on my products, especially the custom options, and then give them some time to sit and look through binders filled with samples of my handmade cards. There would be games and a free draw. There would be many cards and packages of cards available for take home purchase, or they could order custom cards, invitations and stationary. The hostess then recieves a commission from what has been sold...either 10% cash or 20% merchandise. (so, if i sell 200$ worth, she can… [cont.]

A. If you build it they will come. Everyone out there in the world is looking for the alternative value positioned product versus your generic cookie cutter Hallmark card. I would build a few samples, build an internet site and reach out for partnership to other popular retailers so that you can get some product exposure. As anyone in private practice will validate, the hardest element to selling your product is making it visual to your target customer. Is $18 too much? Why doesn't everyone drive a KIA? Because most people are willing to spend more for quality.

How can I word an enclosure card changing the date on a party invitation?
Q. I handmade custom invitations for my sister's bridal shower.; they have been completed but have not been mailed. The host of the shower emailed me today stating that they have to make a last-minute change in the date due to scheduling conflicts at the cafe it's being held at. Since the invitations took a long time to make and were somewhat costly to do (there were almost 50 invites!), I am simply going to put in an enclosure card stating the date change before I mail them rather than redoing them. What would be proper wording for these cards?

If someone wanted to make you handmade soap, what would you want?
Q. My wife & I make handmade soap from scratch, using oils and lye as the base. We would like to know what features or details would general people like/want in a custom made soap. A. I would love to find a cucumber/melon scent with that "loofah" type grit in it. Rectangle shape. (From time to time I'd appreciate finding a specialty shape that was in a normal size) I've purchased home made lye based soap before, I was a little disappointed with the foaming ability. I love for a soap to lather up/foam up well when you use it. I really don't care about the color of a soap, as long as it suds well, cleans well, and smells good. (Except, now,I'm more curious about the color. I tend to shy away from anything red, since I got a specialty soap that dyed my tub, washcloths, etc... red.)

Does any one know how to make an handmade spoiler out of finerglass?.?
Q. I wish to create my own custom car spoiler using fiber glass, pls let me know how to do and what are the raw materials needed and what to be done from first to last.
Asked by pradeep4x4 - Thu Jun 4 05:22:25 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Golly, a book or major magazine article could be made from that answer. So start here and you can make a fairly ugly spoiler by carving a foam core and covering it with fiberglass mat and resin or a better looking one by making a mold, waxing it, and laying up fiberglass resin and cloth and mat inside. On the whole, if you want something that no one will laugh at, you need to go find some basic instructions for working with fiberglass and make some practice things that will educate you at low expense.

A. As an old hippy I would take another look at a store named Groovey Threads because that's what we called them!

How much would you be willing to pay for quality hair products?
Q. I'm getting ready to open an online shop selling handmade (from scratch), custom-scented haircare products - everything from shampoo to hairspray and modeling paste. Obviously I'm biased, but I've been perfecting my formulas for over a year, and I've come up with some really luxurious and effective products. I've also found some very cool and unique packaging. So here's my question: I know what my costs are, and I know what kind of profit margin I'd like to see, but what I'd like to find out is what is the most you would be willing to pay for, say, a 6oz (170g) bottle of shampoo that you really love?
