Asia-Pacific or Apac is the part of the world in or near the Western Pacific Ocean The Pacific Ocean is the largest of the Earth's oceanic divisions. It extends from the Arctic in the north to the Southern Ocean in the south, bounded by Asia and Australia in the west, and the Americas in the east. The area includes much of East Asia East Asia or Eastern Asia is a subregion of Asia that can be defined in either geographical or cultural terms. Q. Other major countries have their own categories? Even small countries have their own countries' names as their own categories under "Travel", such as NZ, Vietnam, Ireland. You don't understand the question, ireland is in europe, but it's not in the "Europe" category, Vietnam is Asia, but it's not in the "Asia" category. They are their own single categories. Yeah, strange, because switzerland gets fewer questions, but has one category all to itself.

A. I totally get what you are saying. Seems Y!A suffers from anal/cranial inversion. Or maybe just geographic myopia. Why is RUSSIA listed as a part of continental Europe, but Switzerland gets its own category? It seems there would be more regions and cities to talk about in Russia, than in such a small country as Switzerland. There are such discrepancies all through Yahoo -- i wouldnt take such offense at any one single miscategorization, although you can certainly register your protest.
